The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Manager within the PMO division, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the successful execution of a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity and technology projects that align with the organisation's strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the PMO Manager, you will lead efforts in project planning, coordination, and delivery, collaborating effectively with technical teams, business units, and external vendors.

This pivotal role demands a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects within technical or cybersecurity domains, ensuring adherence to predetermined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include fostering collaboration across technical divisions, business stakeholders, and external partners to advance the PMO's operational maturity and enhance project governance standards. Additionally, you will uphold a strong emphasis on delivering projects that meet high-quality benchmarks while ensuring an exceptional stakeholder experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Champion alignment to the PMO’s governance standards, documentation practices, and reporting cadence Oversee the complete delivery lifecycle of cybersecurity and IT projects, encompassing initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure phases.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to ensure adherence to approved budgets, scopes, and schedules.
  • Facilitate project kick-off sessions and stakeholder meetings, ensuring decisions, actions, and outcomes are precisely documented and tracked.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating concerns appropriately when required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of project status through comprehensive reporting, including financial tracking, forecasting, and resource utilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and technical experts to ensure assignments are completed according to schedule while meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain all critical project documentation, including schedules, status updates, work logs, budgets, and lessons learned reports.
  • Cultivate strong, positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors or partners to promote collaboration and trust.
  • Utilise project management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or MS Project to enhance tracking and transparency across all initiatives.
  • Support the PMO by improving project delivery frameworks, templates, and standardised reporting practices.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned into project delivery processes and optimising operational workflows.
  • Promote adherence to the PMO’s governance standards, documentation protocols, and reporting cadence to ensure alignment with organisational best practices.

Measurement of Success:

  • Timely Project Completion: Projects delivered within or before the designated deadlines
  • Financial Compliance: Projects executed within approved budgetary constraints
  • Scope Management: Effectiveness in maintaining project scope without significant deviations or scope creep
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain above average satisfaction levels based on feedback from sponsors, clients, and project contributors
  • Project Health Monitoring: Detailed and accurate updates on project progress, risks, and issues
  • Governance Adherence: Compliance with PMO-established processes, templates, and documentation protocols
  • Continuous Improvement: Integration of insights from prior projects to enhance the execution of future initiatives

Key Competencies & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Technology or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 Certification is advantageous.
  • Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) is a plus
  • Extensive practical experience utilising ServiceNow (SNOW) for project management.
  • 5–7 years of project management experience, ideally in technology or cybersecurity-related fields

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Experience working in or alongside a formal Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Proficiency with project management tools, especially ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar
  • Strong understanding of project delivery frameworks including Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid models
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven experience in risk management, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong attention to details
