As a L2 Systems and Platform Administrator at Infotrust, you will be an integral part of our Internal IT team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisation's infrastructure, platforms and systems. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability and security of our environment. This position requires a strong understanding of IT systems, networking principles and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design, deploy, and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure—including servers, storage, operating systems, virtualisation platforms, and network components—while performing regular updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Implement security best practices and controls to protect the organisation’s systems and data. This includes firewall configurations, access controls and security policies.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of systems failures or disasters. Test backup procedures regularly to verify data integrity and recovery capabilities.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilisation to identify and address bottlenecks and performance issues. Optimise system configurations and resources to ensure efficient operation.
- Manage the Internal IT queue by triaging, prioritising, and resolving IT and security-related tickets to meet service levels and support operational continuity.
- Oversee the lifecycle of IT hardware, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, asset tracking, and secure decommissioning.
- Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge base articles, and system diagrams to support operational clarity and organisational learning.
- Support change management processes by assisting with planning, documentation, communication, and implementation to minimise operational disruption.
- Assist with internal compliance activities, including supporting Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements, maintaining evidence, and following documented security and operational controls.
Key Experience & Capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
- 2+ years of experience working in a systems engineering or IT infrastructure role, with a strong focus on system design, implementation, and administration.
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with Azure services such as virtual machines, Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments, including integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services.
