The Pre-Sales Advisor supports the end-to-end sales cycle for Infotrust's data protection and privacy products and services, providing technical guidance, solution advisory and customer-facing support. Reporting to the Head of Data Protection and Privacy, you will work across governance, risk, compliance and technology disciplines to help clients understand their data security challenges and position solutions that address real-world regulatory and business needs.

You will have a strong working knowledge of data protection practices, privacy frameworks and associated tooling, with demonstrated ability to engage confidently with customers on their compliance and data security requirements. This role is well suited to someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and business, enjoys building client relationships, and wants to grow their career within a specialist pre-sales function.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-sales Support

  • Assist sales and pre-sales teams by providing specialist expertise to support the sales process.
  • Participate in customer discovery sessions to understand business context, regulatory obligations, data security challenges and technology environments.
  • Develop and deliver tailored presentations, demonstrations and solution overviews that clearly articulate how Infotrust's services address customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with vendor and partner pre-sales and technical teams.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, statements of work and tender responses in collaboration with delivery and sales teams.
  • Support the Data Protection and Privacy team members in market-facing activities, including, attending conferences, and participating in industry working groups and marketing events.

Technical Advisory

  • Build and maintain expert-level knowledge of vendor and partner technologies to effectively address complex technical questions, support solution positioning, and instil confidence in customers throughout the pre-sales engagement.
  • Provide credible, customer-facing technical guidance on data protection practices, privacy frameworks, data classification, data loss prevention (DLP), data security posture management (DSPM) and associated capabilities.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory developments.
  • Support the development of reference architectures, solution overviews and technical collateral for use across the sales cycle.

Service Line Growth

  • Actively contribute to pipeline development by identifying and qualifying opportunities within new and existing accounts.
  • Support marketing and thought leadership activities such as webinars, whitepapers, customer briefings and industry events where required.
  • Provide market and customer feedback to inform service development, pricing and go-to-market strategy.

Key Competencies & Experience:

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in data protection, privacy, or cyber security
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales role
  • Strong technical understanding of common data protection tools and capabilities such as DLP, DSPM, Data Classification & Labelling, Privacy Management and Insider Threat/Risk Management
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws, including the APPs, GDPR, and relevant sectoral regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with data protection tools and capabilities will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant industry certifications are advantageous.

  • Ability to interpret and operationalise regulatory requirements into actionable solutions and customer outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data protection and privacy issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including developing customer presentations and stakeholder presentations.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence both technical teams and executive decision-makers.
